  Introduction   On December 16, 2017 The New York Times , Washington Post , and Politico all ran revelatory stories about a UFO $22 million investigation by the US government that went on from 2007-2012. This was in direct opposition to past statements by the government that they were not involved in investigations and are not withholding any information related to UFOs. The media stories also pointed out that despite the claim the investigation was shut down in 2012, the director of the alien threat detection program, Luis Elizondo, was still employed till he left in October 2016, and that there was actually a replacement for him when he left who continued the program.
